Commentary

This cycle bridge over the A14 opened in 2001. It took twenty years of local campaigning by Jane Coston to get the bridge completed. The route over the bridge is shorter than the old route over the junction, and considerable safer.

The 'Tear drop' field, finally restored to grass after being used as works yard by contractors working on the A14 junction. As part of the 'Green belt' this field was the site of an unsuccessful planning application for a budget hotel in 2008.
